Hello All

Due to the swim meet this Saturday, Levels 2/3/4 practice is cancelled.

I can still take registrations (Deadline Sunday Nov 13th) for the club meet on Friday Nov 18th. THIS MEET IS FOR PRE-TEAM THROUGH LEVEL 3 GROUPS.

The BBSC club meets are posted online. There are meets for all levels of the team, including Pre-Team training groups!

Please make sure all of you view the levels and ability info for each swim meet, fill out the meet commitment form, add funds to your meet escrow account and register your swimmer with USA swimming. This all needs to be completed first.

Please understand that most meet entries are due up to a month before the meet.

Meet Escrow Account:
Please make sure your swimmer has enough money in their accounts prior to being entered in swim meets. The REC meets will cost $10 and the other invitationals could cost $75+/- as it depends on the number of days/events entered.

USA Registration:
USA swimming now requires all swimmers to be registered by their families through their website. Please use the link below and make sure you register for the premium year round membership. Make sure this membership will be good from now until Dec, 31st 2023.

Swimmers who swam meets this summer should have a current registration that will expire 12/31/22.

Hello All
Please read the Return to Play announcement for Beachwood sports below. Swimming and Diving will begin programming on Monday July 6th. 
Swimming will begin with our level 4 and 5 swimmers. Levels 1-3 will be announced Mid-July and in phases as we work to provide a safe environment for all. 
Parents and swimmers will be required to attend an online policy meeting that will be announced before the start of each level. Details about swim lessons and lap swimming programs will be announced late Aug or early Sept.

Bison Athletics- Return to Sports -
Important InformationDear Bison Families,

The Governor, the National Federation of State High School Associations, and the Ohio High School Athletic Association are allowing athletic teams to begin summer activities under strict guidelines.

Our fall, winter and spring high school head coaches will be reaching out to their athletes and parents about reopening and to review our health and safety protocols for returning to play. Some teams will begin their off season programming in the next 5-7 days. Others will begin in a few weeks, and a few others won't start until early August. Middle School athletes will begin practices the first or second week in August. Prior to these workouts, our athletes and parents must attend the coaches' return to play training session. During the training session, coaches will review our health and safety protocols which have been submitted to the Cuyahoga County Board of Health for approval.

Student athletes and coaches will maintain proper social distancing during workouts and adhere to all of our procedures in order to maximize safety. Our Summer Health & Safety Protocols for Return to Play can be viewed by clicking on this link.

Summer training sessions are NOT mandatory and will have no impact on future team selection processes. If you do not feel comfortable attending, you do not need to do so.

All student athletes (7th - 12th grade) must have an updated physical on file prior to participation in any workouts. Here is the link to the OHSAA Physical Examination Form that parents/guardians and your child's doctor need to complete. The completed physical examination form must be sent to our Athletic Trainer, Julie Brough at julie.brough@beachwoodschools.org. Physical examination forms are valid for 13 months. Without this form submitted, student athletes will not be permitted to workout. If your child’s physical exam has expired or will be expiring soon, I encourage you to contact your physician and schedule an appointment as soon as possible.

All families must log into Infinite Campus to complete the "Annual Update" through the Parent Portal. Log into Infinite Campus, and click "More" on the bottom left. Then click "Annual Update" and follow the onscreen directions. Complete all sections of the update (including all questions regarding athletics). This update is required to be completed annually. If you need assistance logging into Infinite Campus please email lj@beachwoodschools.org.

If you have not yet signed up for a sports team (fall, winter or spring), you can do so by clicking on this link. This will allow our coaches to connect with our athletes and families.

SWIM MEETS:
We had a small but mighty crew of swimmers this past weekend at the Strongsville swim meet! Great job swimmers, Colin Elwell, Max Rose, Sumeet Chakravarti, Eric Scott, Micah Port, Ben Keyerleber, Gabe Colmenares, Matt Keyerleber, Sam Ornstein and Ian Stender.

Please do your best to register NOW for swim meets as competition is a great teaching tool and necessary experience to help our swimmers succeed!

3. Please register by Nov 20th and bring a check to the pool made out to BBSC for $40 per meet registered. (Escrow balance needs to have sufficient funds by Nov 20th for your swimmer to be entered in the Dec 15th meet.)

Important Info Regarding Team Schedule

Hello Bison Swim Club Parents,

First off, we would like to thank Karli for her time and efforts and wish her well. She made a big impact on our program the past 10 years. From a historical perspective, I have known Karli for almost 20 years as a coach at Beachwood and as a swimmer for my previous club team. She has been a big and important part of my life, and I wish her tons of success.

Below are a few important messages regarding the Bison Swim Club.

Halloween Party
Unfortunately, due to time constraints we need to postpone our Halloween Party. I feel bad that we have to postpone, but Karli was heading this up and I am not sure of the details. I hate to disappoint the kids, therefore, we will plan a Thanksgiving or Holiday Party in Nov or early Dec. If there are any parents that wish to help me plan this event please let me know.

Swim Meets in November
I will send out an email to swimmers/families who are attending the meet this weekend on Wed night or Thursday once the meet host posts the final team warm ups. I will do this again for the second swim meet also. I am at the mercy of the meet director. Please bear with us. I will be coaching at the meet on Saturday.
